Screenings in the Bay (Monday to Friday): The Hidden, American Psycho, Ghost in the Shell

Hey guys! We're back from camp and ready to go to the movies. This week's Terror Tuesday is a highly recommended movie by those who have seen it, so if you can make it out to Mission Street, It sounds like it'll be worth your time. The Castro Theatre is also showing two double features at the end of this week, with several titles you may recognize... And the New Parkway has you covered if you're in the mood for some anime. Read on to find out more.

Terror Tuesday
Tuesday 5th @ 10:15pm (1hr 36min)
Action/ Crime/ Horror (IMDB)
"An alien parasite with the ability to possess human bodies goes on a violent crime spree in LA, pursued by a human cop and an alien cop inhabiting a human body."

Weird Wednesday
Wednesday 6th @ 10pm (1hr 43min)
Documentary (IMDB)
"There's no need to see Part 1 of this travelogue that shines a light into the dark corners of weird America. Rummaging through our garbage and peeking in our closets, the producers expose such wild goings-ons as karate nuns, topless carwashes, amateur superheroes, worm eaters, erotic bakeries, public orgies, Dead Kennedys lead singer Jello Biafra's mayoral run, and a brothel... but for dogs. On its surface, presented with a bemused narrator who provides color commentary for a presumably European audience, it has an air of educational or journalistic authenticity, but consumers of mondo-style exploitation documentaries will recognize that it's mostly just an excuse to show nudity and as much violent, weird or gross images as they were able to capture or produce. This movie wants to shock and titillate you! Guaranteed to be at least 20% not-fake."

The Third Man (1949)
Thursday 7th @ 7pm (1hr 33min)
Noir/ Mystery/ Thriller (IMDB)
"Pulp novelist Holly Martins travels to shadowy, postwar Vienna, only to find himself investigating the mysterious death of an old friend, Harry Lime."

-with-

Th Fallen Idol (1948)
Thursday 7th @ 9pm (1hr 35min)
Drama/ Noir/ Mystery (IMDB)
"A butler working in a foreign embassy in London falls under suspicion when his wife accidentally falls to her death, the only witness being an impressionable young boy."

American Psycho (2000)
Friday 8th @ 7pm (1hr 44min)
Drama/ Slasher (Google)
"In New York City in 1987, a handsome, young urban professional, Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale), lives a second life as a gruesome serial killer by night. The cast is filled by the detective (Willem Dafoe), the fiance (Reese Witherspoon), the mistress (Samantha Mathis), the coworker (Jared Leto), and the secretary (Chloƫ Sevigny). This is a biting, wry comedy examining the elements that make a man a monster."

Less That Zero (1987)
