Creatures of the Overlook Theatre

You've read about places like this, but never felt much weight in the words. They resonated just long enough to be dismissed as some mad man's day dream or outright impossibility. Perhaps that was your own way of shielding your mind from the luring pull of such a place in reality...
Visitors of The Overlook Theatre thought nothing of it either. They would come, in singles, pairs, or flocks, simply to bask in the art of film. The visits became more regular, and enjoyment turned to glutton, discussion to debate. Soon, they were planted in the theatre more often than not, and their lives were paying the price. The seductive touch that once drew them in was tightening its hold on their souls, separating the qualities that ensured some balance, discarding them as waste; only leaving one absolutely precise crumb of who they used to be to take over the void.
